Getting to Waitākere Hospital
Please note - changes to access points
From Wednesday, 2 October 2024, there will be changes to Waitākere Hospital access points to continue construction works on Manaaki Hōhonu, the new 30-bed inpatient ward and Intensive Care Unit due to open in 2026.
The works will require the following changes to hospital access points:
- Lincoln Road – access to Entrance A and B, hospital Main Entrance, Emergency Department, main public and staff carpark, Inwards Goods/Loading Dock, and Union Health and Dialysis.
- Woodford Avenue – access to Entrance G and F, Maternity, Woodford Gardens, and Waiatarau.
These access changes are likely to stay in place for a minimum period of six weeks. We apologise for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience during this time.

Driving
From Auckland City
- State Highway 16 heading west
- Take exit 16
- Turn left onto Lincoln Rd
- Follow the road along and turn left into Waitakere Hospital
From Albany
- State Highway 16 heading east
- Take exit 16
- Turn right onto Lincoln Rd
- Follow the road along and turn left into Waitakere Hospital

Public Transport
There are two bus stops located on Lincoln Road near the hospital.

Taxis
- Taxis are located outside the Healthwest building (opposite the Waitakere Hospital entrance).
- If there are no taxis available, request for one to be called to the main reception entrance.
- Ask for assistance if unable to walk to the taxi stand.
