The Get Up, Get Dressed, Get Moving campaign is a reminder of the benefits of keeping as active as possible while recovering in hospital.
Encouraging and supporting patients to remain active and to get dressed into their own clothes enhances dignity, autonomy, reduces deconditioning and in many cases will reduce their time in hospital. Remaining active and independent can boost muscle mass, boost morale and promote a faster recovery.
A working group of clinical champions have been developing a Resource Pack. You are more than welcome to download and use this pack in your area but remember to link in with the international compaign by adding the hash tag #endPJparalysis(external link)
If you or anyone in your area has an idea, resources to share, or would like to participate in this event, you can contact Renee.Kong@waitematadhb.govt.nz
