Slark Hyperbaric Unit Services
- Hyperbaric recompression (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT)) to people with the below acute and elective conditions as well as providing transcutaneous studies as a supporting service
Acute conditions
- Decompression illness (DCI)
- Arterial gas embolism (AGE)
- Air or gas embolism
- Carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning
- Sudden acute hearing loss
Elective conditions
- Clostridial myositis & myonecrosis (gas gangrene)
- Crush injuries
- Enhancement of healing in selected problem wounds
- Exceptional blood loss - anaemia
- Intracranial abscess
- Necrotising soft tissue infections
- Refractory osteomyelitis
- Hyperbaric treatment for complications of radiation therapy
- Skin grafts and flaps (compromised)
- Thermal burns
The Chamber
- The Slark Hyperbaric Chamber utilises compressed air to pressurise the patient's environment to the equivalent pressure they would experience while diving underwater at depths
Visiting hours
- Visiting hours are between 8.00am - 4.00pm by appointment only
